History
1950: Founder Nishiwaki Chozo establishes “Nishiwaki Chozo Shoten”, the predecessor of Maruni.
1972: Opens “Maruni”, dealing in imported jeans, in Honmachi 6-chome, Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture.
1977: Opens “Maruni Arai Store” in Himegawara, Arai City, Niigata Prefecture (now Myoko City).
1988: Nishiwaki Kunie becomes president of Maruni.
1990: After repeated visits to the United States, the home of jeans, begins research into making original jeans.
1997: Founded “Maruni Ltd.” and released the first model of “Maruni Jeans”.
2000: Certified as a venture business development business by Arai City.
2001: Changes organization to “Maruni-Jeans Co.” Nishiwaki Kengo is appointed as the representative director, and Nishiwaki Kunie is appointed as the chairman.
2005: Seeking new prospects, we begin full-scale production of new Maruni Jeans items.
2008: The exterior of the “Maruni Arai Main Store” is reopened after renovation, utilizing the Maruni Jeans brand concept in the store design.
2009: “BISHAMONTEN Jeans” is announced and sales begin.
2014: Receives “Japan Brand” certification from the Small and Medium Enterprise Agency.
2017: New brand “Blue Snow White” is registered as a trademark.
2020: As a new challenge, we begin selling original denim products with altered denim weft threads.
2022: Maruni celebrates its 50th anniversary, and publishes the company history record “MARUNI 50”.
